How To Impress On Your First Date

So, you have arranged your first date with a guy you like. Hopefully, they will do all they can to impress you when you’re with them.

But you shouldn’t make the guy do all of the work. While you hope they will be respectful, gentlemanly, and kind to you on the date, you should do what you can to impress them too. After all, if everything goes well and you both hit it off with one another, there could be many more dates to come. Yay!

So, what can you do to impress him? Well, here are some suggestions that we hope you find useful.

#1: Focus on your looks

Arriving to your date with your hair in a mess and an outfit that is better suited for lounging around the house probably isn’t a good idea. You won’t feel great in yourself and the guy might be unimpressed too. So, make an effort.

Of course, you don’t need to spend an age or a fortune getting yourself ready. Pick out your best outfit, consider our makeup tips, and do whatever you usually do to make yourself look presentable.

If there is anything you’re embarrassed about, do what you can to fix any issues. It might be a blemish on your chin, for example. Try different solutions to resolve any issues before your date, including wearing these cheap clip-on veneers if you must. However, a concealer that matches your skin tone could be all it takes to hide any spots.

#2: Arrive on time

You’re allowed to be fashionably late to your wedding but the same doesn’t apply on your first date. It’s polite to be on time and you will also reduce his fears about getting stood up. If you arrive on time, it will let him know that you value his time, and that should do much to get your date off to a good start.

#3: Take an interest in what he has to say

Your date will probably be nervous so don’t judge him if he starts babbling uncontrollably! And don’t judge him if he talks about things that don’t really interest you. Yes, he might sit and talk about sports and Star Wars and other things you might not care about, but the least you can do is listen and ask questions. If you take interest, even if you have to fake it a little, you will show the guy that you care about what they are saying.

#4: Have something interesting to say

Hopefully, the guy will have something interesting to say. But what about you? If you have nothing to say in return, the guy might get a little frustrated, especially if they are forced to fill any awkward silences. So, to avoid any tense situations, think about topics the guy might like to talk about. You can gain an understanding of his interests from his social media pages, so you could base conversation around these. You could also think about stories from your own life that you think he might enjoy hearing about. These conversation starters might also prove useful, especially if you both run out of things to say to one another.

Finally

If all goes well on your date, a second date shouldn’t be out of the question. So, consider these suggestions and do whatever else you can to impress him. You don’t have to go overboard of course – you don’t need to cartwheel around the restaurant in an effort to wow him – but if you like him, you should make the effort to do something to attract him to you.

Good luck!
