Happy Friday!…. *inhales and exhales* Ahhhh,… the great outdoors! For someone who does not enjoy being in grassy, woody or foresty areas, I sure am appreciating being outside a lot more. Being outside feels like a new experience, especially after being on lock down and staying in, way more than I normally would. The air and sunlight on my face, breathing in fresh air and just being out are simple pleasures that I definitely took advantage of prior to the pandemic. However, staying in has also brought a new creative side. I have now been forced to think of fun activities that go beyond shopping or branch and trying out new restaurants. Lately, I have gone hiking, something that a few months ago, I could never be convinced to partake in. I must say, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would and further more, I would absolutely love to go hiking again, before summer ends.
With that new and open mindset, I was looking forward to having a picnic. Something that in the past, I considered to be more of a hustle than fun because of two things; bugs and itchy grass, and who knows what other off-putting things I would run into. However, my need to enjoy as much fresh air as possible in a safe environment is not an opportunity I was willing to pass up. So, with Pizza ordered, fruits packed and orange soda In hand, we set off for a picnic. Which turned out to be a nice, relaxing day.
For the picnic, I wanted to be comfortable while taking advantage of this opportunity to wear something other than sweats or leggings. I thought this cute green dress was perfect. It has this light breathable material that would be comfortable even on the hottest days. The straps knot at the top, so you can adjust the dress to your comfort. Additionally, I love the flirty split detail in the front that takes this dress beyond being just another green summer dress, to one that has style, even when dressed down. This dress would be easy to dress up, and I cannot wait to create a chic look with it, next summer.
For accessories, I wore flat sandals, and accessorized with my very cute straw hat and silver sunglasses. I thought these accessories where appropriate but still cute, given the event and setting.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer as much and as safely as possible, and I will see you on my next post.
XOXO…. Nia!!!
